Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I book an appointment with a doctor ?

Appointments can be booked by phoning the surgery or in person or by signing up for online access . We operate a system called Personal Lists, which means each patient is allocated to a doctor within the practice at the time of their registration. We find that this helps us establish a close relationship with our patients and aids continuity of care. This is why the receptionist will ask the name of the patients usual doctor at the time of booking. However if you require an emergency appointment it may not always be possible to see your normal doctor.

How do I book an appointment with a nurse?

Appointments can be booked at either surgery by phoning or in person or by signing up for online access . All our nurses are very experienced and highly qualified, but they have different special interests and levels of knowledge. Therefore the receptionists have been instructed to ask for what reason you are attending in order to give you the most appropriate appointment for your needs.

Do you hold special clinics for patient with chronic diseases ?

Yes. We have regular Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Stroke and Heart Disease Clinics. Patient suffering from these conditions will be invited at regular intervals to attend such follow-up clinics. Appointments for these clinics are longer than usual appointments. If you are unable to attend for such an appointment please phone the surgery as soon as possible, so we can invite another patient to attend. Every year between October and November we hold special Flu Clinics for at risk patients.

How do I register with the Practice ?

If you live within the practice area, we will be happy to accept you onto our list.
